A firm nod was given at Billy's statement. Teddy looked around at the others, blue eyes dancing over features and expressions. He listened to Mia as everyone's gaze went to her or elsewhere, starting to resume tying his shoelaces.
"Well, the goal here is to make sure no one gets bloodied up but the bad guys. That doesn't change." He doubleknotted his laces firmly. To him, if someone got in close enough to bloody Kate and Mia where they didn't have a fair advantage with hand-to-hand combat, that meant he wasn't doing his job right. Course, he thought that about all of his team. They couldn't do their job if they let each other get hurt.
He stumbled on his next words a bit. "I mean, I think we would--I know that..." He looked around at the others quickly before starting over, managing a much more normal smile this time toward the gutsy blond. "Even if we knew this before your birthday--the vote would have been the same." He stood up, his height stretching as he did, skin changing to its green hue, the ridges of armor broadening his shoulders. "You're one of the team. Even if it gets crazy. No," he amended, holding up a blunt claw. "Especially when it gets crazy. Kate knows?"
