The chopper had dropped them off, and even after Maria crouched on the rooftop next to Clint, she still issued orders through her communicator. In her other hear, the incoming messages were static and fragmented, but enough for her to keep the map in her head up to date.
In one hand, she juggled binoculars with the SHIELD smartphone that served as a mini computer, and kept that map up to date, too; in the other, she had a P90 tucked into the crook of her arm. For her personal safety, of course, because it would be extremely irresponsible to jump into the middle of battle. Even if she itched to because she was a Goddamn Marine.
"Reminds me of Baghdad," she had to say dryly. "Except for the cold." She was bundled into a full parka and she was still cold. Her bones ached with it, and with memories. "Fergusson," she said to the 'copter pilot, "herd us something to shoot."
