Crazy? Of course we're not crazy...
Who: Norman and Norman
Where: Norman's penthouse
When: 7/14/12
What: Norman tries to beat the cold and has a little heart-to-heart
Rating: PG-13, language
It was the little things that Norman really enjoyed. His favorite robe, a roaring fire and some hot cocoa made for a very relaxing evening. Sure it was July, but who was he to argue with the weather? Now if only the television would have something interesting. Every channel was Avengers this, Frost Giants that. There was even some group of teenagers getting smacked around. Kids these days...
A low cackle echoed off the walls of his den. Muting the television Norman stood, scanning the darkened room for the source of the noise. "Who are you? What do you want?"
"Kids these day..." A guttural voice hissed from the darkness, repeating his earlier thought. "Like that little punk Spider-man. You know, the one you ran away from?"
"I didn't...well I did, but there were cops and other heroes there. I couldn't..."
"EXCUSES!" The disembodied voice roared. "You have all the strength you need Norman, you just need the will to use it. That's where I come in."
Where was it coming from? Norman's gaze fell on his flight helmet. The eye lenses almost seemed to be staring up at him...no, that was crazy. His helmet was not talking to him. That's when he noticed the figure in the mirror. Okay, that made more sense. "There you are. And what do you mean I don't have the will? I'm the one that killed that idiot general, I'm the one who stopped Hammertech from getting my contract."
"Bah! Petty revenge. You haven't actually DONE anything with your power. Such a waste of potential. You should be ruling this city!"
"Are you kidding? You saw what happened when all those monsters attacked last month, and now this." He waved towards the windows where snow was still visibly falling outside. "This town is loaded with superheroes."
"Yes, but you're smarter than they are. Together they might be unstoppable but one by one they're just men. You're not a cartoon villain Norman. Fight dirty." The figure shook with maniacal laughter. "They've been fighting for days now, out in the cold. They're tired, scattered from here to Queens, and all focused on saving the day. What a perfect time to strike..."
