She didn't seem to be in any mood for his jokes or small talk-- clearly. Scott didn't move back or shy away as she strode up to him and he tilted his head back to look up at her and met her eyes. His jovial expression changed into something more melancholy and bittersweet.
"I'm not going back with you, Barda." He said, somber but determined. There was a rare kind of steel in his voice. "I don't belong on Apokolips." He continued, his voice soft. "And neither do yo--."
Whatever he was about to say was cut off by the sound of boots clomping and clacking through the halls. They didn't know what they were getting themselves into.
"Oh, boy."
People were going to get hurt- possibly even killed and the ship, for sure, would be wrecked. Well if her mission was to take him back to Apokolips, then he was her target-- and she would follow him to complete her mission... which left Scott with an opening.
"Mother Box, make a Boom Tube!" He said, springing into the air, his aero-disks popping out of the bottom of his boots and Scott flew back down the hall, away from the approaching troops and towards the Boom Tube that Mother Box opened with a affirmation of, "Ping. Ping. Ping."
