When Kal spoke, Selina almost found herself believing him. She felt suddenly sad, filled with an ache inside that bubbled up. So he believed in the goodness in people? Selina supposed that someone had to, and if it was going to be anyone it should be him. Selina could do nothing but tilt her head and listen. It was only polite. He was a guest in her home, she couldn't stand to contradict him no matter how differently she felt.
"I gotta say, I hope I can live up your expectations of me." replied, her smile a little more strained. After all, it was difficult to have Superman in your living room telling you that you could improve Batman. Selina had managed to imagine herself in a lot of situations over the years involving them, mainly bad, and usually involving Blackgate.
Selina mouth twisted and she found herself looking away when he mentioned Bruce talking about her. It was strange to consider him brining her up, though considering their history she supposed he must have.
"It was always more than the chase...I...." Selina wondered how to phrase it, how to express how she'd always felt about both Bruce and Batman.
"He was like a jigsaw puzzle with a piece missing, Bruce and Batman. I just didn't figure they would each have the piece I needed to put the man together..."
