"Pretty new. It was a... gift," she said absently, somewhat cryptically, and once more distracted as she glanced behind her. Then she held up her hand to her mouth and yawned deeply, eyes narrowing. When she finished, she swallowed and met his eyes again. "I always come here for breakfast. You won't be disappointed, I promise... but best sandwich ever? I shy away from that kind of responsibility."
The deli clerk called out a number as it inched closer. She looked at hers and sighed. "Seventy four... so, what brings you to this place? I've not seen you around before, and I think I'd remember someone with your 'do." She put a hand on his arm briefly and added, "That's a compliment." Dropping her hand, she turned and watched the digital counter jump up another digit as the clerk called out again.
