Bruce took another swallow of alcohol, holding it in his mouth as he did whenever he had a chance to taste it, examining the curious flavors.
"No, he's trying. Very hard," Bruce agreed. "I don't think it's too late, but it's definitely not going to be easy." Looking at Clark, he frowned a little. He definitely hadn't made that connection - that not only Clark's experience with his father, but both his own experience and Tony's had been similar, as well.
"I... can see that, yes." he nodded. "My father was the same." Looking at Clark, he smiled a little. Their father's had met once, and the similarities between the two men had been one factor that had convinced Jor-El to send his son to Earth. "To this day I worry that I'm failing him." He didn't even have to ask Tony. "Of course, the thought of some of Damian's potential 'mistakes' frighten me."
Emptying the glass, he got up - perhaps a little unsteadily, though he didn't acknowledge it - and went to shut down the monitors. When he turned around, he was grinning. "A change of subject is demanded. There are far more entertaining things to talk about than my surprise son and my psychotic ex...lover." He thought about it. "Well. There are less depressing things, and this is a birthday party, and it's my Cave."
Pouring himself another glass and putting together a plate of food, he set it on the table before sitting back down with much less grace than usual. Picking up the glass again, ignoring the food, he reclined, one arm thrown over the top of his head. "We can talk about cars, we can talk about the Girl Scouts and their culpability in the crop circle conspiracy... I'll even give you special dispensation to ask anything you want about Selina."
He took a sip, smirking. "Doesn't mean I'll answer."
