Tony had to be impressed by how HERBIE hovered - it was an engineering stroke of genius on Reed's part, and maybe a few appropriated mechanical concepts. But it was Reed and he didn't care nearly as much. Butterfingers, though, seemed to droop a little, and Tony wasn't sure if it was because HERBIE hovered or if because he talked.
As they followed the little flying robot, Tony gave Butterfingers a pat. "He probably gets tangled up in wires just like you do. And he's younger," he added. That seemed to do the trick, and Butterfingers straightened up. He really should have rethought the "intelligence" part of AI. Though, at least personalities gave him something to talk to in the lab.
Reed always looked a little lost, but when Tony glanced around the lab, he couldn't see any particularly puzzling problems that would have his attention - though he wouldn't discount something that was only in his head and not on paper or a chalkboard.
Butterfingers opened and shut his claw as he rolled towards Reed at the sound of his name, and Tony grinned. "Yep, this would be the one that kept stealing your tools from MIT because I told him I needed them. Well, not yours specifically, but he decided that I needed yours instead of wherever mine had gotten to. How've you been?" he asked as a belated tag onto his chatter.
