NPCS: Lian
Where: Roy’s apartment
When: Saturday, June 9th, 2012 [backdated]
What: Jennie comes over to hang with Roy - and Lian. So Jen and Roy act like they are strictly just friends.
Rating: G
“Whoa there, princess.” Roy bent down and scooped up Lian, laughing as she let out a squeal. He spun her around for a second, careful since they were in the apartments kitchen and there really wasn’t a whole lot of room for spinning around. It was a decent sized kitchen for an apartment, but it was still an apartment kitchen. “What’s that rule about running in the house?”
“Not in sock feet.”
“And,” Roy placed Lian so that she was sitting on the counter, her feet dangling. “What’s that on your feet?” He pointed at the orange socks that she was currently wearing (so what if they clashed a bit with her purple shirt? Lian had dressed herself today.)
She wiggled her feet, and Roy picked her up off the counter and placed her back down on the ground. “No running in sock feet, and no running while daddy’s trying to cook, and don’t make that face at me. It smells … bad. I know.” He frowned and surveyed the stove for a second. He could cook, and he was an okay cook, something had just gone wrong.
“Hey,” he grabbed the pot off the stove and headed for the garbage can. “You want to walk - walk not run - and get me the phone? How do you feel about pizza?”
“PIZZA!”
Lian ran off to do as Roy had asked and dumped what was going to have been dinner into the garbage. Lian knew that Jennie (Roy’s friend, who happened to be a girl …) was coming over for dinner, and didn’t seemed fussed by it. She liked Jennie, had been occasionally babysat by her in the past, and didn't seem to think it was odd that Daddy was having a friend over. It was for dinner - that was all. Roy was not ready to even think about broaching the subject of adults other than Dinah and Ollie having sleep overs.
“DOOR DADDY!”
“INDOOR VOICE!” Roy yelled back, and headed for the door (his own feet bare, so he was allowed to move at a quick pace.)
