“Well maybe I am using you because you're dim-witted, wealthy, and I'm far more intelligent.” Selina moved against him again, her nose wrinkling in a grin that spread over her face, her eyes crinkling. “That and you're really good in bed. But don't expect me to mention that at any society functions...”
Selina tried not to think about Bruce's previous relationships, mainly because she'd seen most of them develop in one way or another. They'd always been close, always in and out of each others lives over the years, some of the more public girlfriends she'd even met. Vicki Vale, Silver St Cloud. Social circles could be very annoying when they needed to be. It made her wonder just how many of them had been privy to his secret, and how many of them survived with hearts that were still intact afterwards. Selina supposed she had one advantage though, that she knew Batman and knew what he was capable of. Piecing Bruce and he together was like connecting a jigsaw puzzle – and the end result was a lot more clear than she'd ever thought it would be.
“Being myself is what I'm worried about.” Selina sighed theatrically, rolling away from Bruce and stretching, crossing over further towards the side of the bed she lay on to check the ornate carriage clock that sat on the bedside table. Laying on her front for a moment, Selina allowed her body to tense up, her arms gripping on to the multiple pillows as her neck moved in small circles.
“Try all you like with SHIELD. They're government, they'll follow a command no matter who it comes from.” the words sounded almost mournful as Selina spoke – she had little patience for anything that came from up on high, and she always had a tendency to think the worst of bureaucracy. It'd let her down so much in the past after all. That and there was a glint in Luthor's eye that Selina detested, the look of a man who adored himself. So smug and sure of himself, wrapped up in his money and technology. “The best you can do is try and influence. I just hope you're not right about Luthor. I couldn't think of anything worse than that man in control of anything remotely....well.” Selina turned in the bed, looking back at Bruce across the space between them. “In control of people with actual power.”
Not bothering to grasp at the sheets around her for modesty, Selina sat bolt up right in the bed for a second before lurching back to prop herself up with her arms. Her body felt drained, she wasn't used to laying around, especially in such comfort.
“I think I'm going to go and take a shower, try to wake myself up a little.” She smiled over to him, her head tipping to the side. “Though you might have to show me how to make all of those jets work.” If it sounded suggestive, it was meant to be.
