Bruce had spent much of his life trying to avoid revealing anything of himself that might be seen as a weakness. Whether anyone actually would see them as a weakness didn't matter - Bruce's need to protect himself had made him closed.
But he had craved physical affection all of his life, though he rarely indulged in it. Bruce had been lucky that there were some few who indulged him, even when he behaved as though it were a nuisance, or as if he were uncomfortable with it. It was easier to let go of that with Selina, and he was glad to be able to indulge, especially in private.
"One of the benefits of dating a billionaire," he joked. "We have all the best things. But then, you know that."
For an infamous loner, Bruce had a surprisingly large family - and he included in that his closet friends, his proteges who were not his children, and others who were somewhere in between proteges and children. In the end, he still felt like the fight was his, and his alone, but he also realized that he was lucky to have so many people who either simply cared enough that they would be there if needed, or who were had already taken up his battle beside him.
"You just might," Bruce agreed about Tony. Eventually he might have acted on his own, but watching Tony's own struggles with Pepper and their discussions regarding Bruce's situation had definitely been one of many things that had prompted him to act. "Tony is... a lot more than he shows himself to be. Few people look beyond the flashy surface layer. He has a similar problem, just... nowhere near as complicated." Bruce's mouth twitched in a smirk.
"Robin." Bruce sighed a little, rubbing his face. "Robin, to be frank, thinks I'm thinking with my penis." He settled back, staring at the ceiling again. "Which is rather amusing, since he's tip-toeing closer and closer to telling his own girlfriend." He'd helped Tim a bit with that, Bruce had to admit. Still, he'd expected a bit more support; Tim had always liked Selina.
"As for Batgirl - I've been asked to leave her out of it completely," he glanced at Selina sideways. "Which may answer your question in itself, but it's a little more complicated than that." He cleared his throat. Bruce had long pretended to be unaware of Barbara's crush on him, but he certainly wasn't stupid. It had mostly died down since her college years, but every now and then, signs of it flared - such as now.
"Other than Kal, Tony and Dinah, I doubt the Avengers know anything," Bruce shrugged. "Kal and Tony know everything," he admitted. "Dinah knows only what you've told her. Those are the ones I'm closest to, but there are several other members of the team I'm acquainted with. Green Arrow I have a," he paused, trying to think of a way to describe his relationship with Oliver Queen.
"I'd trust GA to fight beside me, and we have many times. Our children are best friends. He and I don't always see eye to eye, and more often than not, we want to do bodily harm to one another. His best friend is Green Lantern. My feelings toward him are similar. I respect him in many ways, and I'd fight beside him quite willingly. But we'll find many reasons to punch each other in the face, too. Both of them are close to Dinah, who's not given to gossip, but if it gets back to them that I've got a girlfriend, I'll never hear the end of it," he smirked.
"Scarlet Witch I know because she nearly destroyed New Jersey awhile back; I was one of the people who took her down. She did a stint in Arkham for her mental breakdown and seems to have fully recovered, but I've got my eye on her. Banner," Bruce smiled a little. "Banner I went to M.I.T. with, the same time as Tony. I trust him. Captain America seems a bit of a prat, but his heart's in the right place. The others - Mockingbird, Hawkeye, and Thor I know nothing about. The team itself is a risky venture. Individually though, these are strong fighters. If we can work together, it could work. It's SHIELD I'm worried about."
