"I did," Guy said a bit defensively, "And I did a good enough job that she said yes. And I'm not awkward around pretty women." Oh yes he was, but Guy wasn't going to admit that to them or even himself. As far as he knew, no woman was able to handle how amazing his personality was. They usually settled for shallow idiots. But what Kyle said...women being the enemy. He had something there. Women, as far as Guy knew, were more complicated than they should be.
Jen didn't seem convinced that Kyle was going to be of much help. Guy opened his mouth to reply but Jen was answering her phone. The pizza was here, he'd tell them both that he could handle this. The hardest part of a date was actually asing the girl out, right?
"I got this," he said, "I don't need you two to walk through this with me like I'm some baby. I have been on dates before, and I almost got married." And then Jen was back through the door with the pizza. The date was nearly forgotten as soon as the smell hit his nose.
