Unfortunately, Kyle knew women and especially Jen enough to realize that there was no chance that she had not heard Guy, even if she showed no reaction. He'd hear about it later. And it would be awkward. But at least between now and then he could attempt to formulate a justification for his actions. Because while Guy might not realize what a big deal it was, and would have done the same, it was different with him. Specifically because Kyle had at one point expressed a romantic interest in Jen. An interest that was not reciprocated, and that was more than a little awkward to touch on now that she had hooked up with Roy. With Kyle it had thus been more like he had been defending her honor, than standing up for a friend, and there was a distinct difference there.
And what side of it Kyle really stood on was a bit of a mystery even to him.
Instead of attempting to say anything to Guy in the brief moment of privacy that they had, he just waved a hand. An indication that, good or bad, they were still cool. Even if Jen was sure to hound him later.
Kyle took the shot along with his friends, and leaned back into the cushion in the aftermath. "Jen, frugal, with alcohol? That's something I can't fathom", he said with a little grin.
