With a little creative accounting and frugality (it was like she had stock in lentils and the Ramen Noodle company...) Jen, when she came into some money, was able to make it stretch and last to be able to float herself for a while, until her next pay day. And in that regard she was like a cat. Besides Jen still had some graduating money left over, she could afford the pizza. But sooner or later, she was going to have to get a job.
"Very good, very good, very good," she said, while leaving her perch on the arm of the couch over to the coffee table to inspect the bottle. She left that and her beer there while she went to the kitchen to retrieve some shot glasses for the three of them, only catching what Guy said on her way out. Jen paused for a moment and considered her friend's words, nearly doubling back and asking what was up on the spot.
Instead, she just went to go get the glasses, minding her own for the time being. Kyle didn't think to bring it up for a reason. But Guy did open the door for that topic of conversation...
Returning to the room with three glasses, Jen knelt on a large pillow cushion at the coffee table and set them out before cracking the bottle of Jack Daniels open and pouring them three shots, nice and neat. "Okay, you guys ready for this?" She asked, after the fact and lifted her glass up. "Salut," she said and knocked back the shot, followed by a noise akin to a shudder.
