Clark slowly lowered himself into another chair after Bruce began describing the boy. He went quiet, listening to the change in his friend's voice and body language.
Finally after a short silence, he spoke, quietly. "You're gonna love him, Bruce. You're going to be a parent and look past ... qualities you wish weren't there and love the ones you are glad are there. You're going to accept your fears and ..." His thoughts traveled to the past, where a young farm couple met a boy that descended from the stars. They had probably been fearful too, understandably so.
"Conner." And now it was his turn to look pained. "Half of that kid ... of him is Luthor, Bruce. He was created too, to be some kind of experiment, weapon, against me. And ... I'm terrified too, that I'll scare him away or not be enough. But," he took a deep breath, "it won't stop me from trying. From showing him all the good in the world. He's a smart kid too."
"So you're going to love him. And be a good of a parent as you are to all of your kids."
