Teddy listened intently, brow knitting before he looked away. He didn't say anything for a time, hand reaching out and reluctantly taking the bill "I'll... be right back."
When he returned, he had a smoothie for her, strawberry and the mellow citrus of mango. "I had them add vitamins. Strawberries are high in folic acid. It's... important in early development. Sorry, I read way too many nutritional books."
He sat and ran a hand through his hair, lips pursing before continuing the uncomfortable conversation--the necessary one.
"So, at this point... safe for us to say this 'Loki' is his teacher that he mentioned, right? Billy mentioned he was meeting you and... that the teacher and you were enemies. Said your powers were going out of control, but..." Well, she looked emotionally drawn--not crazy. And she was an Avenger! Avengers didn't keep crazies on their roster, did they? Well, maybe, but she seemed all right. "And then he and Tommy look so similar. That's... It doesn't really happen. So I can believe that some sort of magic happened there, that they're twins somehow." Easily. Just what was harder to explain.
"But the kicker," He gave a broad smile. "Is what you just did. If there's a face I have absolutely memorized, it's Billy's. How'd you know it wasn't him so quickly?"
