"We could take in a movie sometime, if you wanted. Or there are a few plays or musicals of course. Or just ... dinner again?" He smile returned, larger this time. "Thank you. I wasn't sure how tonight would go, honestly. As I've said, it's been awhile since I've had a date and..." Phil shrugged a shoulder. "I was worried that I'd be a little boring, to be honest."
"But even if I did crash and burn, I knew that I'd enjoy dinner with a good friend who is very sweet company, and who'd be nice enough to let me down easily." His other hand moved over hers, covering it now with both. "Thank you, for your patience." He wasn't sure if his gratitude was being expressed well enough, and he next lifted her hand to his lips, kissing it softly.
"Would you help me pick out a few plants? Your input would be wonderful. And maybe we can do that as the next outing? Dinner after?"
