Re: Because I think they desrve to meet properly...
Maria was back on a rooftop, hunching her shoulders under her leather jacket and trying not to finger her gun in the shoulder harness too obviously. She could look down and a little over and keep her car under surveillance, but after witnessing someone strip a vehicle for parts shockingly quickly, she was edgy about leaving it alone. Sure, she could get off a shot from here, and maybe even hit something if she was very lucky, but then she'd have a great deal of explaining to do.
Actually, she was edgy about being out in general; there was a menacing silence to the streets, even these outside the Narrows, unlike any other city in the world. It made movement stand out, even if that was movement of black against black; she might only be able to see that there was movement, but it was something, especially when it was movement up above the streets and in the middle of the air.
She flinched at the sound of the shot, and the gun came free of the holster as she scanned first the rooftops, then the street below, and caught that flicker of movement. It was a bit easier when it rushed up and landed on the ledge of her roof, the same one she was crouched against. She was keeping her silhouette low, using a blocky electrical unit on the roof to shield her from lateral view and the shadows to generally conceal her; this person was standing boldly on the edge as if she belonged there.
Maybe she did: that was what Maria was here to find out. She slipped the binocs into a pocket and kept her gunhand low, half concealing it beneath her coat, and eased a little closer to get a better view. "So, which one would you be..." she murmured to herself. She was still here for recon only, even if she was risking it for another view.
