"You are not going to make me do the dishes." Tommy's face wrinkled up in disgust and he gave Kate A Look. Still, he did as she asked, helping her gather up the mostly empty food trays before following her into the kitchen.
It was one of those big industrial affairs with steel appliances, albeit a bit dated, over sized ovens and a hell of a lot of counter space. Someone probably spent hours shoving tater tots onto a baking sheet and making sure they were cooked to toasty perfection.
Tommy nodded in Kate's direction. "You're really into this 'other thing', aren't you?"
It wasn't that he didn't get where she was coming from but she was kind intense about it. To hear her talk about it made it sound less like an exciting rush and more like a full time job with a shit ton of responsibility.
