"Pfft. Is that how this works? You just find out?" She questioned. "Well its not me whose gonna say." Jen pantomimed zipping her lips.
"Naturally. It takes a village, as they say..." Jen winked at Hal. "Its called collective consciousness, plus I know how to learn from other people's mistakes. And trust me, over the years there's been a lot. Me and Alan talk a lot.
"And don't worry, she said again. I lied. I'm not even thinking with that. I'm thinking with this." And gestured below her belt. Her mouth fell agape at that, "Hey-oh!" And she just grinned at Hal. Just to throw him off the idea wanting any more details about her private life. Which wasn't the truth, what she had said before was, she just was going for shock value at this point.
She watched him curiously as he returned the two shot glasses and the bag for her. "What's this?" She asked, taking the glass and the bag from him, looking awfully confused. "What'd you do...?" And then she flushed because getting gifts made her feel embarrassed. "Okay, first things first," she said and quickly downed the shot. Jen shivered as the liquor burned its way down and then looked up at Hal, her eyebrows screwed up slightly. "You didn't have to get me anything," she admonished lightly and then tore into the bag to find the box of rare film.
"Woooah." She didn't have to look at the box to know what they were. "Wow. Aww, Hal, I'm gonna cry!" Jen pushed herself into a standing position, from where she was floating and wrapped her arms around Hal to give him a hug.
