The man cursed at her again. She had to commend him on his courage, or stupidity. She tilted her hand just a little higher. "I will not ask you again." Her voice was even, cool, but he'd probably hear the very tightly restrained anger lying beneath it. Laura wanted a reason, but she was keeping herself in check.
"I'm sorry!" he shouted.
She turned to the girl. "Is this sufficient?"
After the girl nodded numbly, she retracted her claws releasing the man. As if a spell had been lifted, the girl turned and began to run off without so much as a thanks. Laura was not offended. She then turned to look at the two Jason had taken down. "That is what I do." She wiped the bloodied back of her hand against her dark jeans. This encounter had given her enough information to come to he conclusion that he wasn't a bad person.
