It was a dull swooshing sound that woke Selina from her light slumber, her eyes creeping open slightly, the morning light making them sting for a moment as she reached up with a hand to push the sleep away. It had been a strange sound, like a bird flying close to her face, or maybe a wave crashing in the distance. But was unusual enough to wake her up. Selina turned her head, glancing over to the clock briefly. Six am. At least she'd had three hours sleep. For a second she stared at the ceiling before her eyes found their way to her balcony, noticing something white stuck to the outside which definitely hadn't been there when she'd come in three hours ago.
Her feet hit the wooden floor boards with a thud and Selina pulled herself up and out of bed, pushing her hair back with a hand trying to tame it as she walked over to the glass doors. She tugged them open, reaching out with one hand to grab at the piece of paper which she soon realised was actually an envelope. At first she thought Bruce had left her a message, but looking at the handwriting on the front, she soon realised it wasn't from him at all. Slowly, Selina walked back to her bed, tearing the envelope open with a finger and tugging at the letter inside, sitting on the end of her bed to read it.
She was surprised how much she smiled reading it, even if her forehead was knitting together slightly as she imagined the blue boy scout writing the words down. Casually she wondered where he'd found the time. When she finished, Selina held the letter out in front of her for a while before laying back on the bed, letting the piece of paper rest on her chest as she took a deep breath.
From somewhere in the room, Mephistopheles found his way to her, his nose gently pressing against her her cheek as Selina closed her eyes.
"Check it out Toff, I got my first fan mail." Selina smirked to herself, thinking about all of the ways she could make Bruce tired enough to actually sleep properly for once.
