"You need to learn to share your toys with the other kids, Tony," Pepper chastised lightly, knowing that 'sharing' wasn't really a word in Tony's vocabulary. Not that he wasn't generous - he could be incredibly giving; it was one of his best features. Other things, though, Tony guarded protectively.
"I guess that depends," she argued in return. "On whether you prefer quantity over quality. Last is always going to be last, but whether it's a lot of lesser things, or one very nice thing one of those has to be better, right?"
Grinning at his surprised, she shook her head. "Coal," she said innocently. Pepper did know his ego, but it was more than that, too. She knew how special the armor was to him, and there were so few gifts she could ever give that he didn't already have or would ever really want and like. "But if there's a dent, you'll have to hammer it out and then you'll have a new project to work on," she said, perfectly tongue in cheek.
Pepper was glad he liked the watch. She'd looked over several different models before choosing this one, even though it was a bit old-fashioned looking. Laughing, she nodded. "I almost bought two because I knew it wouldn't last long, but I figured after you talk it apart, you'll only make something better from it, so," she shrugged. "I'm glad you like it.
Pulling out two more gifts from the pile, she handed them two him. The first was another Iron Man, this time a teddy bear version from a company called Bad Taste Bears. The 4" tall bear held a wrench and was grabbing it's crotch. The second gift was a megaminx dudecahedron puzzle - like a rubix cube, but with more sides.
