"Being exclusive can be fun," he had to admit, which was almost a startling first for him. It was in his mouth to remark that it was all about who you were exclusive with, but as he looked over at her, he realized exactly how that would sound, and that was a boundary he didn't want to push today: it would lead to more awkward conversations, and he just wanted to relax and have a bit of fun today.
"Please don't," he said instead. "We'd have to share cake with the lot of them." Taking a bite, he made a happy noise in his throat and glanced over at the rest of the cake. Definitely his cake. "This will come as a total shock to you, but I don't share well."
Dropping to sit on the floor next to her, cake in hand, torn between eating and eyeing the pile of packages - let it never be said that Pepper Potts did anything by halves, or that he was content with said half-measures. "Big ones," he said firmly. "Go big or go home."
