"I didn't think you'd mind," she grinned. "You do like being the center of attention. And there's nothing wrong with exclusive." Raising an eyebrow she teased, "but I can invite the team down in R&D up to join us if you'd like more of a crowd."
Taking her cake, she grabbed one of the forks and took a small bite. Pepper had always been proud of her baking abilities - lessons begun very young at her mother's side and cultivated under the loving eye of her brother the Cordon Bleu trained baker and pastry chef - but she rarely had the time to use them. There was hazelnut in this recipe, and the ganache was rich and perfect. It wasn't as good as her brother's, but it was delicious.
Nodding in approval, she asked as she moved to sit on the floor in front of the couch, "Big presents first or little ones?"
