His father was right. It would seem like a step backwards. Stop gapping crime rather than ridding it but if that's what he needed to do... Damian was confident he could do anything asked of him. All these directives to impress a father he'd never known. Maybe he wasn't beyond sentimentally any more than his father was.
After getting out of the car, Damian took the time to look about the cave more leisurely. His last visit had been rushed and infinitely more complicated. But he hadn't gone more than a few steps before he stopped. His eyes narrowed and his hand instinctively dropped to his sword.
The shadows were moving and there echoing through the cave was the tell tale clack of high heels. It took only a few moments before she appeared. Graceful, confident. Damian straighten up, almost reflexively. His hand dropped from his sword and he sucked in a breath. He supposed they were long overdue for a reunion.
