The tacit acknowledgement wasn't what Damian had been hoping for but it was better than nothing. He hadn't realized he'd been expecting accolades after the altercation until Batman had turned to him and stayed silent. It wasn't as if Damian needed positive reinforcement; the League certainly didn't employ it. It was just hard to tell what his father was thinking sometimes.
Once they reached the car, Damian paused a moment, then took a step forward. He tilted his head and surveyed the vehicle trying to cover up his initial hesitation. His father did have the best toys. He got in, settling himself like he'd been in the car thousands of time.
"Where are we headed now?" he asked, stretching his arms and cracking his knuckles.
