Mark protested stopping in Gotham. Not that he had been living the high life lately, but Gotham was a dark, disgusting city. He shared Len's sentiment of the unsavory sorts, too. They had a tendency to lack reason and often drew far too much attention to themselves doing so. Plus, the lot of them were known to beat on not only their own, but kids and women. They didn't have a code, which Mark found barbaric.
However, gas was needed and Mark finished off the trail mix quite a few miles back. He got out of the car and smoothed out his trousers. The weather was disgusting, and he found himself far too tempted to change it. Hell, he would've if he hadn't promised to lie low. "Because it's filled with nothing but shit," Mark replied, buttoning his coat, "So let's not stay long."
With his wand hidden inside his coat, he trailed behind Len into the diner and slid into the seat across from him. He wanted nothing more than to reach their destination and have a drink.
