She closed her eyes and took a long breath, tension in her shoulders leaving in a rush for reasons she really was not going to analayze at the moment. It was enough to have a berth that wasn't here, and someone she liked being around because being along was not comforting, but produced too many thoughts and echoes.
"Thank you," she said lowly. "I...I'll try not to intrude for too long." She wondered if he wanted to have...someone else over sometime, and exactly how awkward it would be again. Clearing her throat, she added, "I'm still technically on duty, but...they don't need me here. Not around the clock." And wasn't that a kick in the gut as well.
She ducked down to fish out her Marine seabag from beneath her bed, staring at it a moment. "I won't take up much room, either," she finally said. Everything she owned could fit into that bag: she didn't have much in the way of an extended wardrobe.
