That was not the reaction she had been expecting. Greer had straightened herself up on the counter, her hands braced against it as she listened to him. She never considered what had happened to her to be anything but a gift. It gave her a freedom she had not felt in years, a release from a life she had let roll over her. She did not expect him to agree with her, but nightmare was a little harsh.
Instead of commenting on his admission, she shrugged instead. "It's just me," she told him honestly. "I wanted to introduce myself to you. To let you know you weren't alone, but I could be wrong. Maybe we're both meant to be one of a kind."
