Kitty didn't notice the blush, but then again, she wasn't used to causing that sort of reaction. That was usually Rogue's field of expertise.
"Of course. I get that entirely. Do you think any of us that had a choice just decided in one second that we were going to move here?" Kitty shook her head, reaching towards the little dish of assorted sugars to pull one out. "It took a while for my parents to come to the decision to send me here, but they knew it was best for me because there was nothing they could do to help me." Her shoulders raised in a shrug as her fingers fidgeted with the packet of sugar. "I'm not saying that you need help," she assured him, putting a hand on his arm for a moment before going back to her sugar packet playing. "I wasn't adjusting to my ability all that well, and I needed to be here with Professor Xavier or I don't know what state I would be in now." If the headaches got worse... she couldn't even imagine the pain.
"What I'm trying to say is Xavier's school is always going to welcome you, whenever the time comes that you feel you can be here. And it's not like we're completely cut off from the world." She smiled, gesturing to the restaurant. "We can come and go. Not as freely when you're a student, of course. Like any private school, there are rules. But that doesn't mean you can't have visitors or get a chance to go to Gotham to see people on weekends."
