"She knows to be on guard until we know what's going on with all of this?" Dinah paused and frowned, shoving her hair out of her face and taking a pensive sip of her coffee. "I don't... look, honey. I don't want to pry, okay but I just... I need you to be upfront with Jennie about all of this. You know her Dad and I go way back. I know you guys are adults and can do whatever you want-- but I just want to be sure everyone knows what they're getting into. She deserves that." Knowing that there was a chance she could be losing him to guilt from that statement, Dinah poked him in the chest, "Look at me. You deserve that too. Do you understand me?" She asked, fixing him with an intense look.
Roy deserved to be with someone who loved him for him- mistakes, dramas, issues and all. Sometimes even your closest friends couldn't hold up to that standard. It wasn't that Dinah doubted that Jennie cared about Roy and he for her-- it was just that the more cards they put on the table, the more likely their relationship would survive this little hiccup. And Dinah didn't want to see either of them hurt.
