Re: Immediate Reactions and Avengers Assemble
The earth shook, and a sense of alarm and panic filled the fortress, as Thor stood and watched the soldiers before his cell attempt to maintain composure. "Are you under attack?" he asked.
"What do you think, buddy?"
"We most assuredly are," Thor replied, not picking up on the man's sarcasm. "I feel the energies of powerful magic nearby. It is-"
“Come, Thor! Wouldst thou fight with me now?”
Thor drew himself up, his face darkening. "Loki..." he pressed against the clear barrier before him. "You must let me go to face my brother! He will not rest, nor show any mercy to you or your men, until he has what he wants!" Thor rammed the barrier with his shoulder, to no effect. Then he turned, and, muscles straining and veins lifting, he used all his mortal might to wrest the metal latrine from its bearings, thankful that Midgardian plumbing prevented him from being sullied.
As the sound of bending metal echoed off the walls, the men behind him were shouting commands to hold fast and relent. But Loki would not spare them if he decided to cut a path through the mortals. "Rrrraaaaaagggghhhh!"
It was loose. Thor swung with the practice of centuries of battle, slamming it against the hardened, thick glass. Not even a crack. "He will kill you! Set me free and give me a weapon! Something I can swing. And I will take the fight away from you."
They shook their heads.
"Fools!" Thor tossed the warped metal toilet to the ground and paced, his agitation reaching a level of fury he had not felt since his assault on the frost giants, on the eve of his banishment.
