Re: Loki attacks the Helicarrier
Nobody really ever told Bruce where the Helicarrier was flying at any given moment, nor was he privy to a lot of what SHIELD was doing. As a consulting scientist, he didn't really need to know and he usually didn't wonder too much about it. So he was completely ignorant about the fact they were currently positioned outside of Gotham, in the same location where a few days ago he had turned into the Hulk.
In these early morning hours, Bruce was still wearing his pajama bottoms, going through his meditation. He sat on the floor, cross legged, back straight, eyes closed. Deep breath in. Hold. Deep breath out. Releasing tension and anger with each exhale, relaxing his mind. It helped a lot, to get him through the day without incident. Bruce could feel the difference and had come to enjoy the stillness of his mind and body.
And then it happened, quite suddenly - there was a loud thudding sound and the entire Helicarrier tipped to the side, enough for Bruce to topple forward and break his meditation. Concern lined his face - had the Helicarrier been hit? Almost immediately after, Bruce witnessed a large metal plate slide quickly across the doorway to his room, accompanied by a heavy clang.
"What the..." Bruce scrambled to his feet and rushed to the door: it was sealed shut. He tried pressing the button that would usually open the door, but it wouldn't work. Taking a step back, he realized that his room must've been built with some sort of safety measures... just in case. He'd been concerned about being kept in a cage, and all this time he'd been sleeping in one.
Trying to keep his cool, Bruce used his communicator. "What's going on?" he asked. "I've been locked in my room!"
