Jack Drake Murdered by Vicki Vale
Jack Drake, renowned Gotham businessman and world famous archaeologist was murdered in his home last night. Sources say that he was gunned down after witnessing a pair of men breaking into his home. His untimely death comes just three years after the passing of his wife, Janet Drake, following their abduction by the Obeah Man. At this time it is not known whether or not the Obeah Man had anything to do with this murder, although the men responsible have already been apprehended, according to our sources within the GCPD. It is believed that the Batman had a part in their capture.
Jack Drake, who had only just learned to walk after being confined to a wheel chair for a number of years as a lingering effect of the Obeah Man's attack on him, was also a philanthropist and generous benefactor to Gotham. Many of the finest pieces the Gotham museum has to offer were found and donated by him, while his wealth has provided funding for many years. His contributions to the city will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind his only son, Tim Drake, a student at Gotham Heights.
