Before he could greet her back with her gestural name, Strong Sunshine Girl, she was hugging him, and Doug held her back, fiercely. Seeing her was such a rare treat that he wanted to make the most of it, and knowing that she was off into dangerous situations only made each glimpse of her that much more powerful.
Doug closed his eyes and held her, his embrace going from strong to gentle, to simply resting his head next to hers, that odd sensation of kevlar and mesh weave against his cheek and chin.
