Tonight was a night for surprises, Sue joked, as they caught a cab to the restaurant without being recognized or hassled as they made their way inside. It really was a night for surprises, though. Sue gasped when they got out at the restaurant. She couldn't believe Reed had actually remembered where they'd gone for their first date. Most days, he was so absent-minded he couldn't be bothered to make sure his socks matched, or that he ate regularly. He hadn't needed to check with her where they'd gone on their first date, and he'd enlisted her little brother to help him pick the perfect restaurant.
Her heart melted. "It's perfect," she said, giving him a loving smile and an adoring look, "It's the perfect surprise. Thank you."
