"Mmm... mm?" He tried to direct his thoughts to the question, enjoying the feel of Billy's fingers against him. He frowned in thought, fathoming his concerns he'd gone through concerning the group.
"I'm aware things can go poorly," he said slowly. "Really poorly. But... Hawkeye is also right. A team is better than individuals. We're novices, no matter our capabilities." He leaned back to look at Billy. "And what we're doing is dangerous. Whenever you're trying to stop people from doing bad things, it can be, well, unpredictable. When I met her, she was trapped under a bunch of steel beams. What if the wrong person had come across her? What if no one had and she was seriously hurt and bleeding to death or something? Any of us could end up like this. If we're together, we might not."
He smiled. "Besides, they were really accepting of me being a green shifter. I've never really had friends before, so would like to try to have, you know... that group. And knowing you're doing things like this..." He looked down and back up quickly. "I don't want you with your back unwatched."
