Re: Bruce and Bruce!
"Well then," Bruce asked, curious, "if you don't mind me saying, what's a guy like you working for an organization like this? I mean..." How could he explain what he wanted to say? "You're Batman."
Bruce sighed and for lack of anything better to do with him nervous energy, he poked at his pie while he stood there. He'd spent enough time apart from civilization, from the wide deserts of the American West, to the jungle rainforests of Brazil, to the frozen mountains of Tibet. But what Batman seemed to suggest was something different. A controlled environment?
"You sound as though you have someplace in mind?"
To answer Batman's question, Bruce sighed and explained, "I hope permanently, but I'd settle for the second option. I tried to study my condition, but it was damn well near impossible on the run. I didn't have the right equipment and resources. My... late... wife...she was working on a cure, but the main element she had missing was the subject. Me. I found out very recently, as in the last two days, that after she died, all the research she'd done had mysteriously disappeared. Gone. I wonder if SHIELD confiscated it, but then I would've thought that of all people, they'd want to find a cure. I'd give anything to get a hold of her records." For more than just finding a cure - it was Betty's manifestation of love, to help find a way to reverse the process and return him to normal, so they could have a normal life together again. A dream that now could never happen. Pushing his thoughts aside, Bruce continued, "I'd hate to have to start from scratch, but there are a few existing notations. I'm willing to put myself under a microscope to get this thing licked, once and for all. That's my agenda."
