The Friend Zone. It could make you or break you. You were either planted there for life or by some miracle you were going to get out. Guy was aware of this zone and he was rarely ever in it. At least not when he wanted it to be more. He didn't mind being friends with people like Dinah or Jennie-Lynn. Anything else would be really fucking weird.
"Look," Guy said with a sigh, "You like the guy, he's got a daughter. I can't offer you any advice other than to go with the flow and if it's worth it, you fight for it. If it becomes more of a hassle than something you want, then drop it and walk away. You can't be together unless both of you want it."
It seemed like reasonable advice to him, "Life is complicated, so are relationships. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves and will hit the ground running the first chance they get that bad shit starts happening."
