Kate was halfway out the window when he'd managed to keep her from fully climbing back out. Setting her foot back on the floor, she climbed all the way back in before pulling her shades off. "Sorry, I didn't want to get you in trouble." He'd done a lot for her. She knew that finding a teenage girl hiding in the back of your home wasn't good. Finding a teenage superhero girl hiding in the back of your home couldn't be any better.
"I was just making routine drop in to see if you had anything new? Oh! And now that you mention it, communication is a great idea. Do you have anything like group communicators or anything?" It was a lot to kind of spew out at once. "Maybe we can work out something like that so I can ping you before I come in?" She just didn't like using phones or the like. Tracing was far too easy. She trusted him enough to keep her off the grid...ish. If he tracked them, she didn't have much of a problem with it.
It never hurt to have an extra set of eyes watching your back.
