The sound of the recorded voice grated on Eddie's nerves. Their hacking attempt could be delayed by whole minutes! And in the cyber world, every nanosecond counted. The moment Doug's thumb tapped the screen (and unbeknownst to Eddie, surreptitiously reactivated the program to contact Oracle), Eddie's hand stretched out and before Doug could slip it back into his pocket, he chucked it across the room where it banged loudly against the wall and then clattered to the floor.
It was a justified move on Eddie's part, but he considered how he'd make it up to Doug: after they were though, he would get whatever cell phone, tablet, computer Doug wanted. Hell, he'd get him one of each, personalized and programmed with all sorts of goodies.
"Focus!" he ordered Doug, then asked his question again, "Have you gotten any files yet?"
