Re: Before the Madness
For a time, the group of friends talked, and sipped at their sparkling punch, and laughed while looking nervously on the dance floor. Doug was nervous. He shouldn't have been. He'd read up on dance moves online, and had memorized them like he might have started to learn a language. He was confident he could do it, but actually doing it was something else. Also, it would give him a chance to talk to Johanna a bit, unravel more of the mystery that was the exchange student and her brother.
But there were so many people around. Doug hesitated and fidgeted with his bowtie.
He watched her eyes sparkle as she watched other students dance, her hand sashaying her dress side by side like she was dancing in place, just slightly. Doug smiled and leaned over and quietly asked, "Did you want to dance, Johanna?"
