And A While Later ...
Sometimes Jen came home and sometimes she didn't... Not turning up for a night or two wasn't atypical behavior, especially if she was seeing someone. As far as she was concerned, and this was one of those unspoken rules of hers, that people didn't get to dictate where she went and who she hung around with - Todd and Alan had forfeited that right. Of course, it wasn't her intention to purposefully worry them, either and was mostly forthright and upfront about her comings and going which is why telling Todd was probably going to be less of a problem than Lian.
Typically Jen's way of handling Todd went along the lines of: I'm doing this thing that you probably don't approve of, but I'm doing it anyways because it was my decision. So deal with it. Growing up in an orphanage had made her tough, being a Green Lantern (or rather, close enough to one) made her inarguable. Which wasn't to say she didn't take the advice or counsel of others, she just didn't let people tell her what to do.
Children required more tact, and that was Roy's department - how he wanted to handle Lian, telling Lian. If he was going to at all. It might make things messy, Jen was well aware. She would defer to him on this. But, not talking about any of it was probably easier for right now.
"Well if you're lucky - it could be twice in one night," she teased.
