Thankfully Roy had taken the hint and made his way over to come and run interference for her and the weirdo to her right.
"Ah!" She exclaimed, as if he had turned up by surprise. Jen noticeably relaxed against Roy when he came and stood behind her and although he had put his arm around her waist (she'd say something later) she didn't miss a beat. Not even when he took her drink and began to drink it. Inwardly she was rolling her eyes at him, outwardly she was all smiles. If he thought she was going to kiss him, however, he had another thing coming...
"Hi, sweetie," she greeted. "I thought I'd grab a drink while I waited, I got here a little early. Hm? Nope. I have no idea who this is." She said and looked at the other man expectantly, as if to say go away.
And thankfully he did when he realized that Jade was apparently taken, but not before eyeballing Roy long and hard. Then he realized that they were an item, or at least together, muttered a quick, "Whatever," and wandered away. It wasn't until had moved back to the other side of the bar altogether, that Jen dropped the act. She was appreciative for the rescue, to be sure. But first things first... "Thank you. Seriously Oh my gosh, that was ridiculous right? You can take your hand off my waist now," she said chuckling to herself and shaking her head.
"Hello, Roy. I knew I should have just stayed home tonight," she teased. "Always an adventure with you. Seriously quit copping a feel."
