The invitation that arrived had caused quite a stir in his building. After all it wasn't every day mail was hand delivered by diplomatic messenger. Clancy had been gracious enough to sign for it after some improvisation on her behalf. And later that day when Dick arrived home she flagged him down in the hallway. The superintendent crowded him to look over his shoulder as the off duty officer opened the letter. The invitation was simply astounding and it took him a moment to process what it meant. The Latverian Consulate?
"Dick? Who do ye know from Latveria?" Clancy asked in a breathless whisper.
"No one that I can recall, Clance." Dick replied and he idly tapped the invitation on his hand.

Lucky for Dick Grayson the following day had been his day off and instead of catching up on sleep he set off to metropolis. The drive was a grueling one but one he'd made before. Hugging the twists and turns of the highway had him there in no time flat.
The GPS system he'd built into his helmet had him coasting up to the Latverian consulate where he showed his invitation. The guard verified it against his notes and called up to the main building before allowing the visitor through. After parking the car, Dick gave himself a once over to make sure he was presentable before approaching the building itself. Someone from his past was reaching out to him and he was curious to find out why.
