"Finally," the word left his mouth as he waited on the okay to go down. The alien vessel had blipped on the Carrier's radar the moment it came into range. There was the thought of intercepting it, but they just tracked the trajectory. The ship wasn't completely unidentifiable. It had easily identified traces in terms of alloy along with minerals. They were just going to let it land and then they were going to go pick up whatever was left behind.
"Door."
The light slashed the air making a rectangular swirl pattern in the air. He stepped through it just in time to see the van drive away. He wasn't sent alone. He didn't have to look at his partner as he approached the prone form. He leaned down close to it. "Looks humanoid," he remarked as he rolled the visitor onto his back. "Can you hear me?" Midnighter didn't know where he was from or which language he spoke, but there was really nothing else to be said. The sound of his voice should be enough to catch his attention...unless he was one of those telepathic types and the ears were for decoration.
