Billy mused over what Loki was saying. He was correct, of course. Failure to master his abilities could lead to his own destruction. He'd read that in too many books to not have it at least in the back of his mind.
But then Loki spoke about other sorcerers, and Billy couldn't help but be reminded of the lady in the flower shop. Wanda. He hadn't called the number she had given to him, though he'd thought about it a time or two.
"How can I tell? Is there such a way to know the hearts of those around me?" Billy paused, and thought to be silent of the rest, but decided against it. Should Loki have the ability to see inside him, he would know, and Billy did not want to risk his displeasure for not being truthful about such a thing.
"There was a woman, last Saturday. She knew... about my magic. It's possible that she knew more, but she didn't say it. She... gave me her card. Said there were others like me and that they worked and studied together."
