Who: Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd
Where: Midtown High, New York
When: May 16th, after school (forward dated)
What: Detention, oh joy of joys and then some wandering
Rating: PG-13
Tommy knew he was going to fail French. He'd given up on the class halfway through the school year and usually spent that period off campus or hanging around the grounds. If he could convince his teacher to just give him the "F" rather of handing out detention every time he missed class things would be a lot better.
He entered the classroom, scribbled his name down on the attendance sheet, then grabbed an open seat. The teacher on duty, Mr. Baker, had already pulled out his copy of Dr. Zhivago. It'd probably be another two minutes before he started shushing people and then another ten before he nodded off completely. There was a reason he'd been reading the same book for seven months. Not to mention that Midtown apparently didn't pay enough to make monitoring detention worth anyone's while.
Tommy wasn't complaining. Twenty minutes was a hell of a lot better than two hours.
