She seemed to physically relax, almost as if the adrenaline had just drained out of her. Martha put her head back against Jack's shoulder closing her eyes and nodding slowly. "I know..." she whispered. "I am too." Her hand moved from her stomach up just a few inches to where the gashes had been not fifteen minutes ago. She took a breath before continuing. "We just... run tests and scans, and compare the data to records until we figure out what caused this." She was genuinely afraid, and trying not to be. Something was happening that she didn't have the answers to. And now that she was pregnant... would this have consequences? What had caused this, was it a who? Why now? She really didn't know! But whatever it was it was sped up healing... it was a start.
It was a sobering thing, knowing that just a little while ago you were close to death. Hell there was blood on her hands that she hadn't noticed until now, now that she had her facilties back completely. Her shirt was a lost cause, she'd be throwing it out when they got back... well, after testing was done. Not before.
Martha looked up at Jack for a moment, now actually able to take in everything. You never would have been able to tell from how she was responding that she was nearly unconscious just minutes before. Blinking a few times, she noticed something. There was a powder burn on his temple. Outside... she'd heard something... Her shoulders fell as she reached over, putting a hand to the spot... He hadn't... Had he?
